Updates not showing

I am facing a similar issue as the one in this post (AnkiHub deck Updates not showing up after changing username) where my updates are not being shown on my deck’s page.

I have not changed my username, am I supposed to put in my own optional tag in order for the update to show?

You don’t need to add your own optional tag for updates to appear on the AnkiHub deck page.

A few things to check instead:

1. Are the changes actually synced to AnkiHub?

   • In Anki Desktop, make sure you’ve:
     • Clicked the AnkiHub button → Upload changes (or similar wording)
     • Seen a success message and no errors.

2. Are you looking at the correct deck page / account?

   • Confirm you’re logged into the same AnkiHub account that owns the deck.
   • Open the deck page directly from Anki Desktop via the AnkiHub menu if possible, to be sure it’s the right one.

3. What type of changes did you make?

   • AnkiHub only tracks changes to fields, tags, and notes/cards.
   • Card-specific settings (learning steps, decks options, etc.) are not reflected as “updates” on the deck page.

4. Delay / caching

   • Occasionally there can be a short delay before the deck page shows the latest update time. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page.

If you’ve confirmed all of the above and updates are still not showing:

• Please share:
  • A link to your deck page
  • A screenshot of the AnkiHub add-on after uploading (showing that no errors occurred)
  • Roughly what you changed (e.g., “edited fields on 10 cards,” “added 5 new notes”).

With that info, it’ll be easier to see whether this is a syncing issue, a display issue on the deck page, or something account‑specific.

You don’t need optional tags to update your deck.

Hi,

Apologies my question was unclear. I meant that I have been trying to update this section on my deck. I am familiar with suggesting new notes or cards. However, I want to update this section to let subscribers know what new topics have been updated. I have attempted to publish an update multiple times but it still appears with this generic text.

What exactly happens when you click “Publish First Update”? At what point does something go wrong?

Clicking it will redirect you to the forum, where you should fill in the Title and Content fields for your update and then click Create Topic.

What happens after you create the topic?

When I click ‘Publish First Update’, this appears, asking me for optional tags. This is the first time I’m seeing “updates-yeara_deck-salmon”

I’m not really sure why this is happening, but I think it has something to do with being the first time you’re publishing an update.

Which deck are you trying to publish updates for?

Nvm, I see it is for YearA_Deck!

Just to confirm, you got to this page by doing the following, correct?

If you don’t see it, then search for updates-yeara_deck-salmon then send the update, that should send it out to everyone and as well as show up on your updates page for your deck
