Upgrade from V11 to V12

After downloading the AnKing V11 deck, how do I go about updating it to V12? I have already subscribed to the V12 deck, so do I just need to hit โ€œsyncโ€?

Thank you for your help,

Mike

Hello!

Yes correct, if you have already downloaded the ankihub addon and clicked subscribe on the AnKing deck on the AnkiHub website. You just need to press sync for it to install. Also, when prompted, make sure to click upload to ankiweb.

Let us know if you need anything else!

Hello Ahmed,

I am still having issues with obtaining the V12 deck. I went back and made sure I was subscribed to the AnKing deck and I also made sure I had the ankihub addon. However, after I hit sync and I went to browse content, I didnโ€™t see an V12 tags. Just V11 tags.

Thanks again for your help,

Michael

Please try resetting your local changes. To do this:

Go to browse in your Anki โ†’ at the top click on ankihub addon tab โ†’ press reset all local changes

This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you have specifically protected those fields

Then check if you can see the tags

So I went and tried to reset the local changes and it said I didnโ€™t have any Ankihub decks configured yet. And there still arenโ€™t any v12 decks.

When you were prompted after installing the deck, did you click Upload to Ankiweb or Download from Ankiweb?

If you pressed Download, then that might have caused this issue. You need to press upload. Let me know if that is what occured

Also, can you go to the ankihub addon โ†’ take a picture after clicking on deck management. Do you see the AnKing deck there?

If not, go to the AnkiHub website, find the AnKing deck, unsubscribe โ†’ then resubscribe โ†’ click sync again โ†’ once its done click upload to ankiweb

Your last suggestion worked! Do you recommend that I delete the v11 cards now?

Yes. They are no longer synced to AnkiHub and a lot of them are extremely low yield or duplicates

To delete all V11 cards

  1. Go to browse
  2. On the left go to note types
  3. Find โ€œAnKingOverhaulโ€ (not the one with brackets)
  4. Select all + delete

Also make sure to go to tags โ†’ find the V11 tags โ†’ right click โ†’ delete

Perfect!

Thanks Ahmed

Michael
