Based on the screenshot and your description, it looks like you’re experiencing an issue with missing media files in AnkiHub. Let me help you resolve this problem.
Checking Your Media Sync Status
I can see from your screenshot that your AnkiHub is currently showing “Idle” for media sync, which means the download process has completed. However, you’re still missing media files. Let’s go through some troubleshooting steps:
First, try these steps in order:
-
Make sure AnkiHub is fully synced with AnkiWeb
- Sync with AnkiWeb first (press Y or click the sync button in Anki)
- Then check that AnkiHub shows “Idle” for media sync (which your screenshot shows)
-
Reset Local Changes (which you’ve already tried)
- Go to Browse → AnkiHub addon → Reset local changes
- Select your deck and confirm
-
Check Media Files
- Go to Tools → Check Media
- This will scan your collection and report any missing media files
- It can also generate missing LaTeX images if that’s part of your issue
For the v11 export/import method you mentioned:
This is typically used when there are persistent media issues. Here’s how to do it:
- In Anki, go to File → Export
- Select “Anki collection package (.colpkg)”
- Check “Include media”
- Save the file to a safe location
- Create a new Anki profile (or reinstall Anki if needed)
- Import the .colpkg file into the fresh installation
- Set up AnkiHub again and re-subscribe to your decks
If you’re still having issues after trying these steps, it might be helpful to:
- Check if you’re subscribed to the official version of the deck
- Ensure all protected fields are set correctly for the deck you’re using
- Make sure your internet connection is stable enough for large media downloads
Let me know if you need more specific guidance on any of these steps!
Hello,
Just to clarify, Anki’s built-in “Check Media” tool can sometimes show a “missing files” report even when no media is actually missing from your AnkiHub decks.
However, if you see any broken image icons or if images aren’t appearing in fields where they should, please send us a screenshot so we can help you with the issue!
