I am trying to set the learning steps in Anki to 10m 15m 1d 5d with the graduating interval 5d. I put these settings into the “New Cards” tab and saved them but they won’t apply to my cards when I review them. The deck defaults to the original 3m 10m 15m 4d settings. How do I make the new settings apply to the deck? Of note, I haven’t changed the intervals under the “Advanced” tab, not sure if that might have something to do with it?
The most likely culprit is that you’ll want to make sure you’re changing the settings for the deck, or subdeck, that the card is coming from.
For example, if you change the deck settings for preset A, but the card you’re reviewing comes from a deck that uses preset B, it won’t have any effect.
So the short version:
- I would make sure you’re changing the deck settings for the decks you want to adjust.
- I would double-check deck presets, and which ones apply to which of your decks.
- Make sure you click save, and/or save all, just to be safe.
Let me know if that does the trick for you and we’ll go from there. 
Thanks! Unfortunately I did that and nothing happened. See below. Any other thoughts? If I set my settings to 10m 1d 1d, that is the only way I can kick the card to the next day by clicking good. This combination gives me 10m 1d 1d 5d. What’s up with this?

Apparently your intervals are 10m 15m 1d 15m, the way you wanted them to be.
In the screenshot the again is 10m and the good is 15min, exactly as the settings are in the New Cards section. The screenshot shot of this section doesn’t seem to be the default (3m 10m 15m 4d) anymore.
Also, in the screenshot of the reviewing card I don’t see the 10m 1d 1d.
Can you explain a little more exactly what’s being the problem?

Sure! So if you look at the last screenshot, the intervals are currently showing up when I open my reviews as 10 minutes Again , 13 minutes hard, 15 minutes good, six days easy. I want it to be 10 minutes again, 15 minutes hard, one day good, five days easy. The way that I input it into the settings is correct. The way it shows up when I’m reviewing cards as you can see the last screenshot is not.

If you want these intervals, your settings should be:
- Learning steps:
10m 1d - Graduating interval: This determines the interval after you hit “Good” when the card already has a 1-day interval (from the learning steps).
- Easy interval:
5d
