Thanks for posting and for including that you’re on Premium—let’s try to sort both issues (AnkiHub AI + card updates).

To help the team troubleshoot, could you please provide a bit more detail?

  1. About AnkiHub AI not working

    • Are you using:
      • AnkiHub Web (in your browser), or
      • The Anki add-on inside the Anki desktop app?
    • What exactly happens when you try to use AnkiHub AI?
      • Is there no AI button showing?
      • Do you click it and nothing happens?
      • Do you get a specific error message? If yes, what does it say?
    • Which platform are you on?
      • Anki version (e.g. 23.xx)
      • Operating system (Windows/macOS/Linux)
    • Please add a screenshot or short screen recording of:
      • Where you’re trying to use AnkiHub AI, and
      • What happens when you click it.
  2. About not receiving card updates (e.g. new illustrations)

    • Which shared deck(s) are you subscribed to on AnkiHub? (Link(s) if possible.)
    • In Anki desktop, when you:
      1. Go to Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → Config,
what is your username shown there and does it match this forum account?
      2. Press “Check for updates” in the AnkiHub add-on, do you see:
        • “No updates available”
        • Or does it say updates were downloaded / applied?
    • Have you:
      • Synced Anki with AnkiWeb after updating?
      • Confirmed that “Download shared deck updates” (or equivalent) is enabled in the AnkiHub add-on config?
    • Again, a screenshot of:
      • The AnkiHub add-on screen when you check for updates
      • One of the cards you expected to have illustrations, showing that it doesn’t

Once you share those details (especially screenshots + exact error behavior), it’ll be much easier to tell whether this is:

  • An account / subscription linking issue
  • A deck subscription / update settings issue
  • Or a bug that needs to be escalated to the AnkiHub team

You can reply here with:

  • Screenshots
  • Your Anki version
  • OS
  • Example deck link
and I’ll walk you through the next specific steps.

Hi @mellananya,
I’m happy to help you get this sorted out.

I can see you have an active membership in our system.
Can you describe in a little more detail the problem that you are having? Screenshots are very helpful.

A few things will help me figure out what’s actually going on:

For the AI issue:

  • A screenshot or short screen recording of what happens when you try to use it. If there’s an error message, the exact wording is helpful.

For the missing updates:

  • When you sync with AnkiHub, does it complete successfully, or do you get an error?
  • Which deck is this, and can you point me to one card that should have a new illustration but doesn’t?

if you could also provide your Anki version and operating system that would also be useful

Once I can see what you’re seeing, I should be able to tell whether these are related or two separate things.

Warmly,
Hannah
