I keep getting a message when syncing on my anki app on my desktop (Mac os) that is telling me that I need to have an active ankihub plan despite the fact that I am actively subscribed to ankihub for a couple days.

My Anki app for PC has the same issue. It started after I updated Anki. I think my collection is still syncing though, because my progress still transfers to my Anki app on my Android.
I’ll help you troubleshoot this issue where your AnkiHub membership isn’t being recognized by the add-on after updating Anki. Let me search for relevant information to assist you.

Based on the search results, I don’t see specific information addressing the issue you’re experiencing where your AnkiHub membership isn’t being recognized by the add-on after updating Anki. This appears to be a technical issue that needs attention from the AnkiHub team.
Troubleshooting Steps You Can Try
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
- Restart Anki completely - Close and reopen the application
- Check add-on functionality - Start Anki while holding down the shift key to temporarily disable all add-ons and see if this helps identify the issue
- Re-login to the AnkiHub add-on - Try logging out and logging back in to the AnkiHub add-on
- Reinstall the AnkiHub add-on - Uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the add-on from AnkiWeb
- Clear the add-on cache - Navigate to your Anki add-ons folder and delete any cache files related to AnkiHub
Good news that your collection is still syncing with AnkiWeb and your progress transfers to your Android device. This suggests the issue is specific to the add-on’s validation of your membership rather than with your overall Anki setup.
Since this appears to be a specific technical issue with the AnkiHub add-on, I recommend reaching out directly to the AnkiHub team through:
- The Support Contact Form on their website
- Email at support@ankihub.net
When contacting support, please provide:
- Your AnkiHub username
- When you subscribed to AnkiHub
- The version of Anki you’re using
- When the issue started (after which update)
- Screenshots of any error messages you receive
This will help them diagnose and resolve your membership validation issue more efficiently.
Hello,
It appears that your payment has failed, which is why you can no longer sync.
You can access your billing details here: How do I modify my billing details?
Hi,
I am having the same issue with my account. I think my subscription expired and I paid to renew it but it still says syncing requires an active membership on the app and on the website on the top right there is an “upgrade” button.
Hello @thewhale
Try now, your subscription should be active
works now, thanks!
Hi @Ahmed7 ,
I’m having the same issue where I’m getting a message saying I need an active Ankihub membership. I tried waiting a few days after renewing my membership, but am still getting the same error message.
Hi @Ahmed7, I applied for the scholarship and it appears to have been granted about 1hr ago, as the membership options on the website show that core is my current plan. The button is also greyed out.
However I’m still getting the message that I need an active membership so I can’t download any decks.
Hello,
Just to make sure: when did you apply for the scholarship?
It takes a few days from the point of application for the scholarship to go through, aside from the initial email.
Hi, I applied a few hours ago, but if it takes a while for it all to sync up I’ll wait a little longer. I just figured if the website showed me as having the membership I would’ve been able to download the decks straight away.
In the case of applying for a scholarship full access to everything included in the account is also contingent on review and approval of the scholarship application itself, which can take a couple to a few days.
Once your scholarship has been reviewed you should receive a separate notification informing you as much, and at that time you’ll be able to access all of the decks on AnkiHub.
I did receive an email welcoming me to the core plan, as well as an email confirming my application. Is that what I’m supposed to receive as confirmation of approval or will it be a different email?
You will receive a separate notification once the scholarship approval process has completed. Typically this takes a couple to a few days, depending on volume.
