Ankihub Sync Issue with Log In Error

Hi all. I have an issue with AnkiHub. There was an issue with my laptop so I had to get it fixed. After that I had to redownload Anki and add the addons back. I started school again and realized I had missing cards in some subdecks and this issue kept popping up (see image). I have already logged in and confirmed my email and this keeps happening not sure what to do. Can anyone help?

This message is actually coming from AnkiWeb (Anki’s own sync), not from AnkiHub. That’s why logging into AnkiHub and confirming your AnkiHub email doesn’t fix it.

Here’s how to resolve it and then get your AnkiHub decks back in sync:

1. Fix the AnkiWeb email confirmation issue

  1. Go to https://ankiweb.net in a browser.
  2. Log in with the exact account shown in the error message.
  3. On AnkiWeb:
    • Check for a banner or notice asking you to confirm or re‑confirm your email.
    • If nothing shows, go to AccountChange Email and:
      • Either re‑enter the same email and send a confirmation, or
      • Temporarily change to another email, confirm it, then (optionally) change back.
  4. Open your email inbox and click the confirmation link from AnkiWeb.
  5. Restart Anki on your laptop and try Sync again (the regular sync button in the top‑right, not the AnkiHub sync yet).

If that still fails, you may want to:

  • Log out of AnkiWeb inside Anki:
Tools → Preferences → Network → Log out, then close and reopen Anki and log back in.
  • Then try syncing again.

2. Get your AnkiHub decks/cards back

Once AnkiWeb sync is working:

  1. Make sure the AnkiHub add‑on is installed and up to date.
  2. In Anki, go to AnkiHub → Log in and sign into your AnkiHub account.
  3. For any shared decks you use (e.g., AnKing Overhaul), open AnkiHub → Manage Decks and:
    • Confirm you’re subscribed to the relevant decks.
    • Click Sync Now / Update from AnkiHub for those decks.
  4. If cards are still missing from specific subdecks:
    • Check in AnkiHub if those subdecks are enabled or if you might have suspended or deleted cards locally.
    • Use Anki’s Browse screen and search for one of the “missing” cards by text to see if it exists under another deck or is suspended.

3. If problems persist

Please reply here with:

  • A screenshot of Anki → Tools → Add‑ons → AnkiHub (version number at the bottom).
  • Your Anki version (from Help → About).
  • Whether the missing cards exist on AnkiHub web in that deck.

That will help narrow down whether this is purely an AnkiWeb login issue or if something happened to the local copy of your AnkiHub deck after reinstalling.

Hello,

The message is from AnkiWeb, rather than AnkiHub.

You can follow the instructions provided and reconfirm your email at the address provided in the on-screen message, ankiweb.net

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
