Anking High-yield tag shows 0 card? for step 1

I tried to search for the high-yield cards for anking FA, and end up showing 0 card. Please see attached for what I have.

I used the drop-down menu on the left rather than typing and searching the tag. And still shows 0 card. What happened?

Thinking...

Search
Found 0 results for ‘tags:official high-yield tag 0 cards anking category::person_raising_hand: Support order:latest max_posts:20 tags:deck-anking-overhaul-for-step-1-2-ankingmed status:open’

This usually happens for one of a few reasons, none of which mean the cards are “gone.” Let’s run through the most likely fixes.

1. Make sure you’re searching the right tag text

From your screenshot it looks like you’re using:

tag:ankihub_deck_anking_om -high-yield

or something similar. For the AnKing Overhaul, high‑yield tags are typically of the form:

tag:"AnKing Overhaul::STEP 1::High Yield"

or similar nested tags like:

tag:"High Yield::Biochemistry"

Try this:

  1. Click on the Browse window.
  2. In the left sidebar, scroll down to the tag section where you see “High Yield”.
  3. Right‑click the exact high‑yield tag you want.
  4. Choose Search (or equivalent) so Anki inserts the exact search text for that tag in the search bar.

If that now shows cards, the problem was just the tag name / path not matching exactly.

2. Check that you’re in the correct deck / note type

Some users accidentally browse only a sub‑deck or the wrong AnKing version.

In the Browse window:

  1. In the left deck list, click All Decks (or the top‑level AnKing Step 1 deck, not a filtered deck).
  2. Clear the search and then re‑run the tag search from the sidebar as above.

If you only had a specific deck selected, Anki will show 0 cards even if other decks have that tag.

3. Confirm that your AnkiHub/AnKing Overhaul is fully updated

If you recently subscribed to the AnKing Overhaul for Step 1 on AnkiHub:

  1. In Anki, go to AnkiHub → Manage Subscriptions.
  2. Make sure the AnKing Overhaul for Step 1 & 2 deck is:
    • Subscribed
    • Fully downloaded and updated (no “Sync required” or download in progress).
  3. After updating, Tools → Check Database and then restart Anki.
  4. Try the tag search again.

Occasionally, if the initial download didn’t complete correctly, some newer tags (like certain “High Yield” tags) might not be present.

4. The tag might have changed in the latest version

It’s also possible that what used to be a single global High Yield tag has been:

  • Renamed, or
  • Split into multiple more specific high‑yield tags.

In the tag sidebar, expand the whole tag tree under the AnKing Overhaul section and look for anything like:

  • AnKing Overhaul::STEP 1::HY
  • AnKing Overhaul::STEP 1::High Yield::[Subject]
  • Overhaul::High-Yield

Try clicking a few of these directly to see if they contain cards.

If you can, please add one more screenshot

To help narrow this down, it would be useful if you could post:

  1. A screenshot of:
    • The exact search bar text at the top of the Browse window.
    • The tag tree in the sidebar with the High‑Yield area fully expanded.
  2. Confirm:
    • The name of your deck as it appears in Anki (e.g. “AnKing Overhaul for Step 1 & 2 vX.X”).
    • Whether this is a fresh download from AnkiHub or an older local copy you updated.

With that info, we can tell you exactly what to search (or if something is wrong with the subscription itself).

Tried Step 1-4 above, and not helpful at all.

I am unsure what to do next.
