I am no longer able to see the high yield tags on my Step_V12 deck. I have tried resetting local changes and this did not fix anything. There are 8 cards with the high yield tag (see below) but am missing all the others.

Thanks for the screenshot and details—that helps narrow it down.
A few things to check/try for missing high-yield tags in the Step1_V12 deck (especially when only a handful of cards still show them):
1. Confirm you’re looking at all tags (not filtered)
On the left sidebar in the Anki Browser:
- Make sure “Tags” is selected and that no specific tag filter is applied (e.g., that
is:due,tag:..., or a search preset isn’t hiding cards). - In the search bar at the top of the Browser, clear everything and type:
to see which high-yield–related tags are actually present.tag:*high* OR tag:*HY*
2. Check whether tags were removed by a local action
Sometimes tags get bulk-removed accidentally:
- In the Browser, search:
(adjust if your deck name path is slightly different).deck:"Step1_V12::Step1_V12" - Then search:
to see if the majority of cards no longer have any high-yield tags at all.-tag:*high*
If basically all cards are missing high-yield tags except those 8, it suggests they were removed locally at some point.
3. Force-refresh tags from AnkiHub
Since you already tried Reset local changes, I’d recommend:
- Open the AnkiHub add-on window in Anki.
- Go to the Step1_V12 shared deck entry.
- Click:
- “Re-download deck” (or “Force full sync from AnkiHub” if available in your version).
- Let it finish, then reopen the Browser and re-check the tags.
This will often restore missing tags/fields that got changed locally.
Note: This may overwrite local edits. If you’ve made important personal changes, consider backing up your collection first (
File → Create Backup).
4. Make sure you’re subscribed to the correct AnkiHub deck
Occasionally people end up with:
- A local copy of Step1_V12 without being linked to the official AnkiHub Step1_V12 deck, or
- A second deck with similar name but not the synced one.
In AnkiHub:
- Confirm you’re subscribed to the official Step1_V12 deck.
- In Anki, open AnkiHub → Manage Decks and ensure your local Step1_V12 deck is actually linked to that AnkiHub deck (you should see the green link indicator / status).
If it’s not linked, that would explain why official high-yield tags aren’t fully present.
5. If it’s still broken, please share:
If none of the above fixes it, could you reply with:
- The exact search you’re using in the Browser when you see only 8 cards.
- A zoomed-in screenshot of:
- The Deck name/path at the top.
- The Search bar contents.
- The Tags pane on the left (so we can see which tags are listed and their counts).
That will help tell whether the tags are actually missing from the notes vs. just hidden by a filter or deck mismatch.
If you’d like, I can also walk you step‑by‑step through doing a safe backup and a full re-download from AnkiHub so you don’t lose any personal edits.
Hello,
I would be happy to help. ![]()
It looks like you may be searching in a different location than where the high-yield tags are located:
Give that a shot, let me know how you fare, and we’ll go from there and hopefully we can get you squared away. ![]()
