So as the title says, before joining Ankihub I have extensively added notes to the Extra field of many cards. Now as I plan to sync with Ankihub, the option of protecting the fields of those specific cards doesn’t seem to work before syncing!
I guess I can only protect the extra field of those specific cards after syncing which negates the whole point of protecting the changes I have made previously before joining!!
Is there a way for me to protect my notes in the extra field of these cards before syncing?

This usually means that this specific card has been deleted from V12. It will not sync with ankihub which is why it can’t be protected. These cards will stay for you and won’t be affected
Uhmm I mean since im on v10 so all note types are either anking master v2 or v3. So I dont think these notes can sync? Until they get updated first to Anking overhaul note type!
I solved the issue by syncing the entire deck with the Extra field protected (manage protected fields), then on my app browser selected all new notes that are suspended (not studied or edited yet) and reset to local changes (Extra field unchecked now on ankihub)
Then applied specific extra field protection to all review cards which has edits in them to save them in future updates!!

There is something very weird now… the media that were in the additional resources field are now in pixorize field !!! Also picmonic has OME banners!?
While additional resources field is empty
I protected both picmonic and pixorize before syncing since I dont intend to use them.
Furthermore I tried to reset to local changes one faulty card (media in pixorize and add res. Field empty) with pixorize and picmonic fields unprotected
The media then disappeared altogether from that one card!
Ok let me clarify, I am sorry if I confused you at first. Bear up with me… They are 2 sequential issues …
First issue: Before Ankihub, V10 of the deck and earlier versions had the “Cloze-AnkingMaster v2/3” note types. This had me not able to protect the extra field of certain cards that I have extensively edited before syncing with AnkiHub and upgrading my note types to AnkingOverhaul note type.
Nonetheless I have solved this by protecting ALL extra fields from the main deck page on ankihub and synced! Then I undid this and protected those specific cards I want, which now are “protectable” bc they are AnkingOverhaul note type… and it worked and saved the extra field of those specific cards!
Next issue: media missing from add. resources field and appearing instead on the pixorize field and ome banner appearing on picmonic fields!
I had the following protected before syncing for the first time (Pixorize, Picmonic, Physeo and additional resources + usual ones lecture notes, etc).
This however seemed to cause the issue for me bc once I unchecked these fields and left them unprotected on the main deck page (pixorize, picmonic, physeo and additional resources) → reset all to local changes…It again solved the issue and the media appeared again in the additional resources field
Idk maybe protecting these fields together made an interruption for the media and mixed them in the wrong fields? you gotta look that up bc it solves itself once I unprotect them and reset.
Sorry for the lengthy reply but I tried to be as clear as possible. TLDR; I solved both issues by manipulating the protected field options
