Cancelled my subscription and didn't unprotect first aid media :/

Hi i already subscribed to the deck, and now cancelled my subscription. I want to get the media unprotected since now i have uncomplete cards. Is there anyway to do the update without having to subscribe again?

Youโ€™ll need an active AnkiHub subscription to:

  • keep the First Aid deck subscribed, and
  • receive the media-unprotection update (which is pushed through AnkiHub like any other deck update).

Once the subscription is cancelled and the deck is unsubscribed/locked, AnkiHub canโ€™t push further updates to your collection, so thereโ€™s unfortunately no way to automatically unprotect or restore the missing media without resubscribing.

What you can do:

  1. Temporarily resubscribe to AnkiHub

    • Re-subscribe to AnkiHub.
    • Re-subscribe to the AnKing Step/AnKingMed First Aid deck from AnkiHub.
    • Sync and apply all updates in Anki (make sure media is fully downloaded).
    • Once everything looks correct and complete, you can choose to:
      • Either keep the subscription,
      • Or export the deck with media as a local backup (File โ†’ Export โ†’ Include media) and then cancel again if you no longer want ongoing updates.
  2. If you think this is an account/billing edge case

    • For example, if you cancelled very recently or think something went wrong, you can open a ticket or message AnkiHub support directly via the โ€œHelpโ€ widget on ankihub.net or in the forum and reference this topic. They can check your account status, but they still generally canโ€™t push deck/media updates to non-subscribed users.

I couldnโ€™t find any existing topic showing a method to unprotect First Aid media without an active subscription, so as far as current AnkiHub behavior goes, resubscribing (even briefly) is the only practical way to fix the incomplete cards.

Hello,

AnkiHub does not provide media for the First Aid field.

To access content from First Aid or Boards and Beyond, you will need a separate subscription to those resources. You can learn more about how this integration works here: McGraw Hill Integration FAQ

Please note that with this integration, you will not retain the media if you cancel your subscription. Therefore, without both an AnkiHub subscription and a subscription to the external resource, you will not be able to access this media.

Let us know if you need help with anything else!
