Different sort order among anki hub subscribers despite same settings

My friend and I are both studying my anki deck and want to see cards in ascending order i.e. first the the cards that were created first. we have the same settings but she gets completely different new cards first in no clear order. We both have studied none of the deck / the same cards suspended.

this is from her mobile version but we checked on her computer and it sorts the same:

and thats mine which sorts perfectly by oldest created card first:

Any ideas what could be causing it? are there settings that could influence this on ankihub? Her brower on teh computer does display the same (correct) time and dates of creation as mine.

Thank you!

Hello,

Are you both using the same deck as in no custom study etc. Its straight from the deck correct?

Does this also happen when your friend tries to do cards on their laptop?

AnkiHub would not have the ability to influence this since both sets of cards (yours and your friends) should be identical

Also, make sure for the iPad that preset 1 is also applied to the deck in question, that might be the issue if a preset is not applied to the deck/all subdecks within the main deck

Thanks for your response. Yes we tried everything we can think of:

It’s an Ankihub deck without any subdecks. studying is straight from the deck. v3 scheduler is turned on on both our devices. i checked on her computer too, applied the same settings here again to all subdecks and its the same. i restarted it with the shift key just to see if any add-ons were interfering but no change. i did click apply preset 1 to all subdecks just to be sure but it didnt change anything. using her original default setting caused the same issue.

Is there anything else we can check?

AnkiHub doesn’t sync deck settings.

The issue can happen if the deck has different “due numbers” or positions. The positions usually correspond to the creation date, so that older cards have smaller numbers, but this is not always the case and Anki has a feature to reposition cards. One solution to use this feature to sort the positions:

  1. Open the deck in the browser and sort by the Created column.
  2. Select all cards then click the Cards > Reposition option.

  3. Leave the default options as shown and click OK.

Thanks so much, this worked and solved the issue
