Your scholarship shows as active on the account youâre logged into (same email you use in Anki).
Check the deck link & tags in Anki
In Anki, open AnkiHub â Manage Decks.
Confirm that:
The AnKing Step Deck is listed there.
Status is Linked (not âNot linkedâ or error).
In the Browser, select a few cards from that deck and look for an AnkiHub-related tag (e.g. AnkiHub::âŚ).
If thereâs no AnkiHub tag, it may not be correctly linked to the shared deck you subscribed to.
Force a refresh of AnkiHub data
In Anki:
Go to AnkiHub â Log out.
Then AnkiHub â Log in again and make sure you use the same account that has the scholarship.
After logging in, go to AnkiHub â Manage Decks, select the Step deck, and click Check for updates (or similar wording, depending on your version).
Check if there are actually updates
Sometimes âDownloading updates: 0â just means there are no new changes for your local version.
If you havenât updated for ~6 months, there should usually be something, but:
If your local deck isnât recognized as the AnkiHub-linked version (e.g., it was imported from a separate .apkg), AnkiHub may see it as separate and thus download â0â changes.
Try re-linking the deck
If the deck is not properly linked:
Back up your collection (File â Create Backup).
In AnkiHub â Manage Decks, unlink the Step deck if it appears with errors.
Subscribe again to the AnKing Step Deck on the AnkiHub website.
Back in Anki, AnkiHub â Sync and follow the prompts to link your existing deck (if it offers that) or to download the AnkiHub version and then move your reviews over.
Share some screenshots / details
Since this is your first sync in months and you just got scholarship, it would help if you could reply with:
A screenshot of AnkiHub â Manage Decks showing the Step deck.
The exact text from the AnkiHub sync log (bottom of the sync window, if any).
Whether you ever updated this Step deck via AnkiHub before, or only via importing .apkg files.
If you post those details, I can help narrow down whether this is:
A linking/mismatch issue with your local deck,
A login / scholarship account mismatch,
Or truly a case of no new updates being available.
Thanks for the quick followâup. Since âDoesnât workâ could be a few different things, letâs narrow it down with some very specific checks. Please go through these in order and let me know exactly at which step things donât match what I describe.
It could be that the deck is already updated. If you re-subscribe after six months, the first time you open Anki after re-subscribing, itâs highly likely that it has already updated. When you click to sync with AnkiHub again, there will be nothing left to update.
Please follow this tutorial to reset local changes. This will ensure your deck is up to date: How to Reset Local Changes
Then, please let me know what you find that indicates your deck is out of date.
