It’s common to see “0 cards” after installing the AnKing deck through AnkiHub. This doesn’t mean there’s an error - it just means the cards are suspended by default! Here’s how to fix it:
Why You’re Seeing No Cards
The AnKing deck is designed with all cards initially suspended. This is intentional so users can selectively unsuspend cards as they study specific topics rather than being overwhelmed with thousands of cards at once.
How to Access Your Cards
Go to Browse mode in Anki
Click on Tags in the left sidebar
Look for the tag#AK_Step1_V12 (assuming you’re using the Step 1 deck)
Select the cards you want to study (click one card, then use Ctrl+A to select all or select specific ones)
Right-click → Toggle Suspend to make the cards active
Confirming Your Installation Worked
When you go to the Browse section and look at Tags, you should see tags like #AK_Step1_V12 or #AK_Step2_V12 depending on which deck you subscribed to. If you don’t see these tags, try the following:
Go to the AnkiHub add-on menu
Click “Reset All Local Changes”
Sync again with AnkiHub
Starting Your Studies
The recommended way to use the AnKing deck is to unsuspend cards related to topics you’re currently studying:
If using a specific resource (like Boards & Beyond or Pathoma), find the related tag
Unsuspend only those cards
After completing those, move to the next topic

The first time I synced, it took a long time and I saw it pull 43,000-ish cards but none showed up once the syncing was done. I went to sleep and now this morning I synced, and it pulled in 7 cards.
