I have been using v11 to study for an exam from a specific QBank vendor (Kaplan). While going through questions from Kaplan, I would search for a card on the topic and try to find one that tested a similar topic. For most questions, I was able to find cards but for those I couldn’t find, I would add a cloze or additional sentence to a premade card. There’s also a few cards that I would take from 4 cloze to just 1 cloze that I would like to preserve.
For example: I had a question describing Marfan syndrome and it asked what type of protein the defective protein is. I found a card with Front: What protein is defective in Marfan syndrome ? Back: {{c1::Fibrillin (scaffold for elastin)}} and changed it to be Front: What protein is defective in Marfan syndrome ? What type of protein is it? Back: {{c1::Fibrillin (scaffold for elastin) Extracellular matrix protein}}
Before updating to v12, I have gone through my unsuspended cards and found all the changes I made and copy pasted them into missed questions (with the clozes, so each card has a note about how cloze is only available in the text portion) and tagged them all and saved to a deck on my computer for when I update.
My current plan is to update to v12, log out of AnkiHub so that I can re-add these special cards and not worry about the daily updates. I want to know if there is a way to preserve these added notes, specifically in the text field and not in missed questions, as my goal is to get this information as a cloze and not just a note after reviewing a card. I want to continue supporting AnkiHub but don’t want to do so at the risk of losing these cards I make daily.
As I’m not sure this is possible, I would like to suggest that the AnkiHub updates be put into a section or tag with the update in bold and then each user can see specific changes and their original additions and decide what they want to keep or not. I’m not sure if that makes sense but please let me know if this is something I could troubleshoot on my end. Thanks!
