Here are the most common reasons an AnkiHub deck doesn’t appear in Anki and how to fix them. Go through these in order:

1. Confirm you subscribed on the AnkiHub website

On https://ankihub.net:

  1. Open the ā€œBrand Names by Dam_Docā€ deck page.
  2. Make sure the button says ā€œUnsubscribeā€ (which means you are subscribed).
    • If it says ā€œSubscribeā€, click it, then try syncing again in Anki.

2. Make sure the AnkiHub add-on is installed and logged in

In Anki (desktop):

  1. Go to Tools → Add-ons and check that AnkiHub is listed and enabled.
  2. In the menu bar, go to AnkiHub → Login, and log in with the same account you used to subscribe on the website.
  3. After logging in, click AnkiHub → Sync with AnkiHub.
    • Wait for it to finish, then check your deck list again.

3. Check if the deck is nested under another deck

Sometimes decks appear as subdecks:

  1. On Anki’s Decks screen, look for a small triangle next to any decks (e.g., something like AnkiHub, Dam_Doc, or similar).
  2. Click the triangle to expand – the Brand Names by Dam_Doc deck may be inside a parent deck (e.g., AnkiHub::Brand Names by Dam_Doc).

You can also use Browse → search for Brand Names in the browser to see if notes are present even if the deck is nested.

4. Verify you’re syncing and opening the same profile/device

  • Make sure you’re in the same Anki profile where AnkiHub is set up.
  • If you use multiple devices, the deck will first appear on the device where you sync with AnkiHub; AnkiWeb sync (the regular cloud sync) doesn’t itself subscribe you to decks.

5. If it’s still not showing

Please reply with:

  • Screenshot of:
    • The AnkiHub deck page for ā€œBrand Names by Dam_Docā€ (showing the subscribe/unsubscribe button)
    • Your AnkiHub → Settings window in Anki
    • Your Decks screen in Anki after running AnkiHub → Sync with AnkiHub
  • Your Anki version and OS (e.g., Anki 23.x on Windows/Mac).

With that info, we can narrow down whether it’s a subscription, login, or sync issue specific to your setup.

Thank you. It turns out I had the AnkiHub add-on disabled since this is a new computer. I was able to enable the Anki-Hub add-on, and have access to the deck now.

Glad you got it working, and welcome to the community!

Since this was a new computer, two quick tips to avoid similar issues in the future:

  1. After installing Anki on a new device

    • Install AnkiHub, then go to AnkiHub → Login and sign in.
    • Make sure the add-on shows as Enabled in Tools → Add-ons.
  2. When a subscribed deck seems ā€œmissingā€

    • First try AnkiHub → Sync with AnkiHub.
    • Then check if the deck is a subdeck (look for the small triangle on the Decks screen).

If you run into any other issues with AnkiHub or shared decks (e.g., cards not updating, tags missing, etc.), feel free to post again and include screenshots—we’re happy to help.
