No tab for "Third-Party Services" in preferences section

Hi,

I just bought AnkiHub and am following the step-by-step getting started instructions. I don’t see the third-party services tab (see screenshot of my anki desktop app below). This is preventing me from logging onto AnkiHub. Please advise.

You’re not seeing anything wrong in Anki itself—this is almost always caused by the AnkiHub add‑on not being installed, not enabled, or not compatible with your Anki version. The “Third‑Party Services” tab only appears after the AnkiHub add‑on loads correctly.

Please try the following in order:

1. Confirm your Anki version

  • In Anki Desktop, go to Help → About.
  • AnkiHub currently supports Anki 2.1.56–2.1.65 (Qt6) (and may not work on very old or very new versions).
  • If you’re on a much newer or older version, please:
    • Update/downgrade to a supported version from apps.ankiweb.net, then
    • Restart Anki.

2. (Re)install the AnkiHub add‑on

  1. In Anki, go to Tools → Add‑ons → Get Add‑ons…
  2. Paste the AnkiHub add‑on code: 1322529746
  3. Click OK, let it install, then restart Anki completely (fully quit and reopen).

After restart, check:

  • Tools → Add‑ons: make sure AnkiHub is listed and Enabled.
  • Then open Anki → Preferences… again and look for the Third‑Party Services tab.

3. Check for add‑on errors

If the tab still doesn’t appear:

  1. Go to Tools → Add‑ons
  2. Select AnkiHub → View Files → View Log (if available) or
  3. Restart Anki while holding Shift to disable add‑ons temporarily, then re‑enable only AnkiHub and restart again.

If there are any error messages, you can:

  • Take a screenshot of the Add‑ons window (with AnkiHub showing) and
  • Post it as a reply in your topic so we can see what’s going on.

4. Confirm you’re following the correct guide

For reference, the official getting started guide is here:
:backhand_index_pointing_right: :rocket: Getting Started

Follow the “Install the AnkiHub add‑on and log in” section step‑by‑step; once the add‑on is installed, the “Third‑Party Services” tab should appear and allow you to log in to AnkiHub.

If you reply with:

  • Your Anki version number, and
  • A screenshot of your Tools → Add‑ons window,

I can help you narrow it down further.
