Common Solutions for AnkiHub Login Problems

  1. Make sure you have the AnkiHub add-on installed

    • The current recommended Anki version is 24.04.1
  2. Check your login credentials

    • Ensure you’re using the correct username and password for AnkiHub (not AnkiWeb)
    • Usernames must not contain the “@” symbol
  3. Reset your password if needed

    • Visit this link to reset your AnkiHub password
  4. Login procedure in Anki

    • After installing the add-on, you should login through the AnkiHub add-on menu in Anki
    • Look for the AnkiHub option in your Anki menu and click on sign-in

Important Notes

  • AnkiHub and AnkiWeb are separate services (your AnkiWeb login won’t work for AnkiHub)
  • If you’re trying to access the AnKing Step Deck course, that login is different from your regular AnkiHub login

  3. Subscribe to and install a deck: Subscribe/Install Step Deck (New User)
  4. Start using the deck: How to Get Started Studying

Sorry I meant that I was able to log in but I cannot sync.

To clarify, could you let me know which of these two situations you are experiencing?

  1. You were able to get past the “Complete Profile” page, but you are unable to sync afterwards.
  2. You are stuck on the “Complete Profile” page and cannot get past it.

Understanding which one it is will help us figure out the next steps. :blush:

Please follow these steps carefully to resolve the issue:

  1. Update Anki: First, please ensure you are on the latest version of Anki. You can download it here: https://apps.ankiweb.net/

  2. Update AnkiHub in Safe Mode:

    • Start Anki in safe mode by holding down the Shift key while you open it.
    • Once Anki is open in safe mode, go to Tools > Add-ons > Check for Updates to update the AnkiHub add-on.
  3. Configure Your Profile:

  4. Final Restart: Close and re-open Anki normally (without holding Shift) to see if you’re all set.
