One of my other AnkiHub decks was imported into the AnKing deck

Hello, I just subscribed to AnkiHub a couple of days ago and I downloaded a few decks. All of them seem to have created separate decks without issue but the whole ABSITE deck I subscribed to seems to have imported inside of the AnKing´s Zanki step decks. I tried unsubscribing from the deck in AnkiHub then resubscribing but the cards ended up in exactly the same place. I also tried moving the cards myself using the move deck option in browse but the cards end up in a single deck without the separate subdecks the deck had before. Is there a way to fix this? I appreciate all the help.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you’re having troubles. That being said, this shouldn’t be too terribly hard to fix, and I’m happy to help.

First, we want to manually set the ‘location’ for the deck so that Ankihub knows where you want it to be parked. I’m on a Mac, so things may look a bit different for you but they should be broadly similar:

From the bottom of your main Anki screen:

Create a deck, and name it whatever you’d like. Say, ‘ABSITE’, for example.

Then, from the top of your main screen, click here:

From there, click on the ABSITE deck:

In the bottom-right corner should be a ‘Destination for New Cards’ option. You’ll want to set this to where you’d like the cards to be parked; in this case, it will be the deck you just created.

Next, you’ll go to the browser:

If you open up your tags, you should see a number that correspond to the ABSITE deck:

Unfortunately, whoever organized the deck didn’t put them all under one umbrella, so we’ll have to do a bit of clicking. Fortunately, it should only take about a minute or so.

Click on one of the tags, and it will bring up all the cards associated with that tag:

Command+A (I think it’s control+A on Windows), then right-click and select ‘change deck’.

Select the ‘ABSITE’ deck we created a few minutes ago, and they should all be moved there.

Unless I’ve missed anything, this should be sufficient to get you up and off to the races. If you have any questions, or if I’ve forgotten and left anything out, please let me know and happy to troubleshoot further until we get you where you want to be.

Thank you so much, just finished moving everything. One quick question, if any new cards are added to the deck will they end up in the newly created ABSITE deck now that the home deck has been changed? I appreciate all the help immensly.

Exactly correct.

Once we changed the ‘destination’ option that means that this is where Ankihub perceives the deck’s home to be, so any future cards will appear wherever you’ve set that destination.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
