Short answer: donât delete anything yet â first move the cards so you donât lose progress.
Whatâs going on
You effectively have:
- AnKing Step Deck (AnkiHub) â this is the deck that AnkiHub is syncing
- AnKing Step Deck â this is a local copy / old version not linked to AnkiHub
If you just delete the nonâAnkiHub deck, you can lose cards or your scheduling from that deck.
Safest way to fix it
-
Back up first
- In Anki:
File â Create Backup⌠- Make sure it completes before changing anything.
- In Anki:
-
Move cards from the old deck into the AnkiHub deck
- Select the old âAnKing Step Deckâ (the one without â(AnkiHub)â).
- Press
B(orBrowse) to open the Browser with that deck selected. Ctrl/Cmd + Ato select all cards.- Rightâclick â Change Deck⌠â choose âAnKing Step Deck (AnkiHub)â â OK.
- Confirm that the old deck now shows 0 cards.
-
Delete the nowâempty old deck
- From the main deck list, click the gear next to âAnKing Step Deckâ (no AnkiHub).
- Choose Delete.
- Since it should be empty, you wonât lose cards.
-
Sync with AnkiHub
- Use the AnkiHub addâon â Sync with AnkiHub for the Step deck.
- Make sure there are no errors and the deck count looks right.
If youâre unsure
If your screenshots show that youâve already learned cards only in the nonâAnkiHub deck and youâre worried about losing scheduling, post a screenshot of:
- The deck list showing card counts for both decks
- The Browser with one of the decks selected and the number of cards
I can then suggest whether you should move cards as above or merge in a different way.
