Why is there a difference between my review card and my card in the browser?

Hello,

Youโ€™re right, thereโ€™s something wrong, the review card should show the exact formula that is in the browser.

Letโ€™s try this first: maybe the bionic reading add-on is breaking the formula because of the bold text. Can you try disabling it just to see if the problem is gone?

I hope this solves the problem!

If the problem persists let me know so we can try a few more things!

@MarcosZan has the exact right instinct.

Because of the way Anki handles CSS formatting, the bolding effects interfere with equation bracket handling and cause particular formulas (especially Mathjax) to break.

Because this is a code-level issue thereโ€™s not a lot that can be done to resolve it aside from turning off the Bionic Reading feature/s.

Either of us would be happy to walk you through how to do that if youโ€™d like.

I deleted bionic reading, downloaded add on updates, closed and restarted anki. The bolding and formula issues are still present. Any other options would be greatly appreciated.

My current add-ons below

If I recall correctly, it doesnโ€™t actually work to delete the Bionic Reading add-on, you actually have to install it, use the settings menu to turn the feature off, and then you can delete it.

Odd quirk, but I seem to recall that having been the case when I helped someone else previously with this issue

At the very least, give that a shot and weโ€™ll go from there.
