I bought an active membership, but discontinued it after about 3 months since I do not need the active updates that occur everyday. With the deck I still have, I am getting the message I uploaded. How do I get that to disappear, it’s quite annoying.
I’ll help you resolve this issue with the AnkiHub sync error message. Let me search for relevant information in the community that might address this problem.

Hello! I understand the frustration with seeing that recurring notification after cancelling your active membership. This is a common situation when your AnkiHub subscription has ended.
Based on the information from our community, when your subscription ends:
- Your decks will remain intact - nothing gets removed
- However, you’ll no longer be able to sync with AnkiHub to receive updates
- The notification you’re seeing is indicating that your membership is no longer active
To get rid of this notification, you have a few options:
-
Remove the AnkiHub add-on: If you no longer need any AnkiHub functionality, you can disable or remove the add-on through Anki’s Tools > Add-ons menu.
-
Disconnect from AnkiHub: You can disconnect your deck from AnkiHub while keeping the cards you already have. Open the AnkiHub deck manager in Anki, select the deck, and look for an option to disconnect or unlink it.
-
Renew your subscription: If you want to continue receiving updates periodically (rather than daily), you could renew your subscription and then sync only when you choose to by manually initiating syncs.
If you’re happy with your current deck content and don’t need future updates, option 1 or 2 would be the simplest solution to eliminate the notification.
For more detailed information about what happens after an AnkiHub subscription ends, you can check this FAQ post.

Hello,
I would be happy to help.
If you no longer have an active membership it might be worth disabling the AnkiHub add-on, as otherwise it will try to reach out to the AnkiHub servers each time that you sync (as per its design).
From within Anki, you can go to your top menu bar: Tools - Add-ons - select the AnkiHub add-on, click ‘Toggle Enabled’ and restart Anki.
That should do the trick for you.
