Cancelled subscription, conflict suggestions

I cancelled my Anking subscription and this has been popping up nonstop. How do I make it so that this goes away?

still using the deck - just cancelled my sub and unsubbed from the deck on ankihub so it is not showing on the decklist.

Hi h3oooo,

Based on the screenshot you shared, you’re seeing conflict suggestions popup messages after cancelling your AnKing subscription. This is happening because even though your subscription is cancelled, your Anki is still trying to sync with AnkiHub but can’t fully access the content.

To resolve this issue, you have a few options:

  1. Disconnect the deck from AnkiHub:

    • Open Anki
    • Go to the AnkiHub add-on menu at the top of Anki
    • Select “Manage Decks”
    • Find your AnKing MCAT deck
    • Click “Disconnect” to stop it from trying to sync with AnkiHub
  2. Turn off AnkiHub sync temporarily:

    • In Anki, go to the AnkiHub menu
    • Select “Settings”
    • Turn off the “Auto sync” option

The popup is appearing because there are conflict suggestions for your deck, but since your subscription is cancelled, you can’t access them. Disconnecting the deck from AnkiHub should resolve these continuous notifications.

For more information about what happens after cancelling a subscription, you can check out this helpful FAQ: What happens after my AnkiHub subscription ends?

Let me know if you need further assistance!

I’ll search for more specific information about how to handle this conflict popup after canceling a subscription.

Hi h3oooo,

I see you’re having an issue with persistent conflict suggestion popups after cancelling your AnKing subscription. This is happening because even though you unsubscribed from the deck on AnkiHub, the AnkiHub add-on in Anki is still trying to connect with the deck on the AnkiHub servers but can’t fully access it due to your cancelled subscription.

To resolve this issue, you need to completely disconnect the deck from AnkiHub in your Anki:

  1. Open Anki
  2. Go to the AnkiHub add-on menu at the top of your Anki application
  3. Select “Manage Decks”
  4. Find your AnKing MCAT deck
  5. Click the “Disconnect” button to stop it from trying to sync with AnkiHub

After disconnecting, the popup should stop appearing. This will allow you to continue using the deck for your MCAT studies without the constant sync conflicts.

According to What happens after my AnkiHub subscription ends?, your deck content will remain available in Anki even after cancelling - you just won’t receive future updates or be able to sync with AnkiHub.

If you continue to have issues after disconnecting the deck, you might also try:

  • Restarting Anki completely
  • Temporarily disabling the AnkiHub add-on (by holding shift while starting Anki, then disabling the add-on)

Let me know if you need any further assistance with this!

Hello,

This message is from Anki’s own sync service and is not related to AnkiHub.

The pop-up is asking you which version of your collection you want to keep:

  • If the most up-to-date version of your decks is on your computer, you should click “Upload.”
  • If the most up-to-date version is on the AnkiWeb cloud, you should click “Download.”

AnkiWeb is a free service from Anki and for all Anki users who have an account. Its purpose is to back up your collection to the cloud whenever you sync. It also allows you to keep your progress synchronized across multiple devices.

Please let me know if this answers your question!

Thank you for your response. I tried to re-subscribe to the Anking deck, which is on the Ankihub website, and it showed another message, telling me that I had to download the new deck. I do not want to lose progress by syncing the wrong information. What can I do to make sure that I am able to resubscribe to get updates, but not lose any access?

You can accept the download of the ‘new’ deck. It will check your existing collection and simply update any cards you already have in place. It won’t affect your learning progress or review history in any way
