Hello there,
I think I have discovered an interesting bug (or maybe this is an intentional feature but itās been causing me a bit of a headache as of late). I made some cards on my desktop PC to my shared āMalleus Clinical Medicineā deck, with the following Anki IDs a few days ago:
- 1696239633166
- 1696239865560
- 1696240103335
- 1696240350016
- 1696240580536
I then opened up Anki on my laptop computer this morning and made some batch edits to some of the cards under the shared tag they were under by adding some additional images to the āAdditional Resourcesā field. Without thinking to sync with AnkiHub first (I disabled the automatic AnkiHub syncing with Anki) I selected them all and selected āBulk Suggest Notesā and an error message popped up, but it seemed to go through. It now looks like itās submitted duplicate notes under those Anki ID cards which were not synced to AnkiHub on my laptop but were synced on my desktop where I originally made the cards (this can be seen on the AnkiHub deck in question Deck details (ankihub.net). The only difference that I can see on AnkiHubās web version is while there are 2 of the same note, one of them is the old version without the images in the āAdditional Resourcesā field, while the 2nd card has the images I added in the āAdditional Resourcesā field. For example:
I suspect this may only occur if you disable the automatic syncing with AnkiHub when Anki syncs, which is what I have done as I have had some other annoying issues pop up when using two different devices and I needed to keep clicking āCheck databaseā to get rid of duplicate cards which kept appearing. But this is the first time itās actually submitted cards with the same Anki ID to AnkiHub.
Iām wondering in the interim until the AnkiHub deletion feature is implemented if an admin could delete the extra duplicated note ID cards (the old version without the added images in the āAdditional Resourcesā field) on the AnkiHub backend, that would be great! And if this could be looked into as a possible bug that would be great (Iām sorry I didnāt get to write down or screenshot the AnkiHub error message that appeared though).
Kind regards,
Stapedius
