How to redownload AnKing media files?

When I click “check media,” there are a ton of missing files. Also, if I’m in the “edit mode” for a card, and right-click to “open image,” I get an error screen that says:

“Windows cannot find C:longpathway\collection.media\image_name. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.”

I think when I was trying to free up space on my computer, I accidentally messed up how Anki stored my media files. It’s weird because it looks like all of the images are still in that collection.media folder, but I’m not able to open any of them when I click on them (it gives me the same error as above). How do I fix this? I’d like to be able to open and use images as part of my notes.

Thanks!

Hello,

Try this:

Please try resetting your local changes. To do this:

Go to browse in your Anki → at the top click on the ankihub addon tab → press reset all local changes

This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you have specifically protected those fields

Resetting local changes didn’t seem to work. Also, I noticed that these images don’t show up on my cards when I flip them. None of these fields are protected on Anki (except Extra, Lecture Notes, and Missed Questions I think), and I’ve unsubscribed/resubscribed to the deck too. Here’s what all of this looks like:

When you click on this button, do the images not show up?

Thanks for your message! The images show up when I click the buttons, but there’s not a button for every field and I would like them to show up automatically when I flip the card. For example, there’s no button for “Lecture Notes,” and I’ve added a few notes in there, but there’s no way to get them to show up unless I’m in Edit mode for the card.
I have the Anking Note Types add-on, and none of my fields are disabled on the AnKingOverhaul card type.

If you’d like them to show up automatically, do the following: How to auto-open a field

Can you show me an example of a card that has notes in the lecture note field but doesn’t show the lecture notes button when reviewing it?

I forgot I had to do that step, thanks!
However now I’m realizing that I’m missing FA images; is that because I’d have to pay extra for that now?

Those FA images are not synced, which is why they show up as missing.

If you’d like to access the FA integration, you’ll need a subscription to First Aid Forward and the premium AnkiHub plan

Okay that’s what I figured. I’m guessing the same is true for Boards & Beyond?

Yes, correct

Here is more info about the integration if you’re interested! → McGraw Hill Integration FAQ

Okay thanks so so much for all your help!!
