Hi Farida,
I see youāre having trouble adding the AnKing deck to your AnkiDroid app. Based on information from our community, thereās an important limitation to be aware of:
AnkiHub requires a computer/laptop first.
As mentioned by our moderator in a related thread:
Youāll need a laptop/PC first to download the AnkiHub add-on and install decks
The AnkiHub add-on can only be installed on the desktop version of Anki, not directly on AnkiDroid. The typical workflow is:
Install Anki desktop on a computer
Install the AnkiHub add-on on your desktop Anki
Subscribe to and download the AnKing deck through the desktop version
Sync your Anki account
Then access the deck on AnkiDroid through your AnkiWeb account
Unfortunately, thereās no way to install AnkiHub directly on AnkiDroid without first setting it up on a computer.
If you donāt have access to a laptop/PC, you might want to:
Borrow a computer from a friend or use a public computer (library, etc.) to set up AnkiHub
Consider using older versions of the AnKing deck that can be downloaded directly without AnkiHub (though these wonāt receive updates)
Is there someone who could help you with the initial setup on a computer? Or do you have any other questions about this process?
Unfortunately, because of the way that the Anki software is written, itās not possible to run add-ons on mobile devices. Thus, in order to fully set up and sync AnkiHub, youāll want to have access to a desktop computer at least for the initial sync.
Once youāve done that first sync on a desktop, though, you can then cross-sync to mobile devices without a hitch. Personally, I review Anki cards on iPhone and iPad daily, so itās definitely possible. Youāll just want to have access to a desktop for at least that very first portion.
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if thereās anything else I can help with.
I see youāre experiencing the āAnkiHub sync cancelledā error when trying to sync after installing the AnkiHub add-on. This is a known issue that others have experienced too. Letās try to resolve it with these steps:
First, make sure youāre using the latest version of Anki
If the error persists after updating, try this simple fix:
Open Anki
At the bottom of the screen, click on āCreate Deckā
Name it anything you like (e.g., āTestā)
Add a simple card to this deck (just write anything in it)
Try syncing again
This solution has helped other users with the same error message. The issue sometimes occurs when thereās no content in your Anki collection before attempting to sync with AnkiHub.
If these steps donāt work, please let me know and we can try some additional troubleshooting methods. Once we get the sync working, youāll be able to subscribe to the AnKing deck and then sync it to your AnkiDroid app.
From your top menu bar: Anki - About Anki, and let me know the version number you see there.
Also from your top menu bar: AnkiHub - Help - Upload logs, and let me know the filename you see there.
Give that a shot, let me know how you fare, and weāll go from there and hopefully we can get you squared away.
