Reading: Why is my deck missing images?

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with missing images on your AnKing deck, especially with an exam coming up. This is a common issue that can be resolved by checking a few things:

First, check your AnkiHub media sync status:

  1. Go to the AnkiHub add-on menu in Anki
  2. Check what the media sync status says:
    • If it says “Downloading” - your media hasn’t finished downloading yet. You’ll need to wait until it says “Idle”
    • If it says “Idle” - the sync should be complete

Note that it may take up to 60 minutes for media to fully sync depending on your internet connection.

Make sure you’re subscribed to the official deck:

Try resetting local changes:

  1. Go to Browse in Anki
  2. Click on the AnkiHub add-on at the top
  3. Select “Reset local changes”
  4. Choose the AnKing deck

Additional things to check:

  • For the AnKing Step Deck, AnkiHub provides images for these fields: Text, Extra, Sketchy, and Pixorize
  • If you have unprotected fields that AnkiHub doesn’t provide media for, this may result in missing images

Let’s try a couple of things, okay?

  1. Please ensure you are on the latest version of Anki. You can download it here: https://apps.ankiweb.net/. After downloading, simply run the downloaded file to update your application.

  2. Next, update the AnkiHub add-on. On your Anki main screen, go to Tools > Add-ons > Check for Updates. After the update is complete, please restart Anki.

  3. Let’s reset and update the AnKing Note Type:

    • Download this add-on: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/952691989
    • After the add-on is installed, please restart Anki.
    • On your Anki main screen, navigate to AnKing > AnKing Note Types.
    • In the window that appears, first click the option to reset the notetype, and then click to check for updates.
    • Be sure to save your changes.

  4. Make sure you don’t have the fields where the image is missing protected: How to Manage Protected Fields

The images are now showing, thanks. Anking is such a great idea.

Please, these tags always showing up on my card, is there a way I can’t make it disappear? It’s blocking some of the texts.

Yes.

  1. Download and install this add-on: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/952691989
  2. After it’s installed, restart Anki.

Then on your Anki main screen go to AnKing > AnKing Note Types. Find the tags tab and disable the tags container:

Make sure to save the changes.

It worked immediately I installed the add-on. I didn’t even need to disable the tag container.

Some images are actually still missing, about 4,661 to be precise. Please any idea on what I can do next? I have synced over and over again.
