I tried all the troubleshooting steps to get my optional tags, and it is not showing up for some reason on the side for UFCOMKha and UFCOMZach. Not sure what to do, but these tags are not syncing.

For the UFCOMKha and UFCOMZach decks, “optional tags” will only appear in the browser sidebar once:
- The AnkiHub add-on is installed and logged in in your Anki profile.
- You are subscribed to the correct AnkiHub decks (the ones that actually provide optional tags).
- You have downloaded/synced the AnkiHub version of those decks into the same profile where the add-on is active.
Since you’ve already tried the generic troubleshooting, here are some more targeted checks:
1. Confirm AnkiHub is active in this profile
- In Anki, go to Tools → Add-ons.
- Make sure AnkiHub is listed and Enabled.
- Click Config and confirm you’re logged in with the same account you used on AnkiHub.
If you had to log in or enable it, restart Anki and check the browser sidebar again.
2. Verify you’re on the AnkiHub versions of those decks
Sometimes people still have an older local version:
- Open Anki → AnkiHub (menu in the toolbar).
- Go to Subscriptions / My Decks.
- Ensure you are:
- Subscribed to UFCOMKha and UFCOMZach on AnkiHub.
- Those subscriptions are “Linked” to actual decks in your collection (it will show the deck name it’s linked to).
- If it says “Not linked”:
- Click to link and select the correct existing deck in your collection.
- If no matching deck appears, let AnkiHub download a fresh copy of the deck instead.
After linking/downloading, restart Anki and open the Browse window to check if the optional tags panel appears.
3. Confirm you’re looking in the right place
Optional tags don’t appear as a separate deck; they show up as:
- Tags in the Browse window, usually under specific tag hierarchies (e.g.,
UFCOMKha::...etc.). - Sometimes filtered by using the AnkiHub browser sidebar (if present) or searching by
tag:in the browser’s search bar.
Try in the browser search bar:
tag:*UFCOM*
to see if any of the UFCOM tags exist.
4. Force AnkiHub sync
- In the Anki toolbar, click AnkiHub → Sync now (or similar wording, depending on version).
- Wait for it to complete fully, then:
- Close and reopen Anki, then check the browser again.
5. If they still don’t show
Please add this info in a reply so we can narrow it down:
- Screenshots of:
Tools → Add-onswindow highlighting AnkiHub.- The AnkiHub → Subscriptions / My Decks page inside Anki showing UFCOMKha and UFCOMZach.
- The left sidebar of the Browse window where you expected optional tags.
- Your Anki version (from Help → About).
- Your operating system (Windows/Mac/Linux).
Once you post those, we can be much more specific about why the tags for UFCOMKha and UFCOMZach are not syncing into your profile.
