First Aid Images Not Showing in Cards

It seems you’re experiencing an issue where First Aid images aren’t displaying in your cards during regular review, but they do appear when you preview the card using the AI in Anki.

Possible Causes and Solutions

1. Check Your Media Sync Status

First, check if AnkiHub has finished downloading all media:

  • Go to the AnkiHub add-on
  • Check what the media sync status says
    • If it shows “Downloading” - your media is still syncing (can take up to 60 minutes)
    • If it shows “Idle” - the sync should be complete

2. Verify Image Field Protection

  • Some fields with images might be unprotected in AnkiHub
  • AnkiHub downloads media only for certain fields (for the AnKing Step Deck, these are: Text, Extra, Sketchy, and Pixorize)
  • Make sure your fields are properly protected

3. Reset Local Changes

If you’ve made local changes that might be affecting the images:

  1. Go to Browse
  2. Click on the AnkiHub add-on at the top
  3. Select “Reset local changes”
  4. Choose your deck

4. First Aid Forward Integration

If you’re specifically referring to First Aid Forward content:

  • Make sure you have an active Premium AnkiHub subscription
  • Ensure you’re on the latest version of Anki and the AnkiHub add-on
  • Check if the First Aid Forward tab is enabled in the AnkiHub add-on config

5. Preview vs. Review Difference

The difference between preview and review mode could be due to:

  • Card template issues
  • Field protection settings
  • Cached media that appears differently in different modes

Need More Help?

If you’ve tried these solutions and are still experiencing issues, please provide more details:

  • Which specific deck are you using?
  • What version of Anki and the AnkiHub add-on do you have?
  • Screenshots of what you’re seeing in preview vs. review mode

This will help me provide more targeted assistance for your specific situation.

here is a screenshot of what I am talking about

Hello,

The First Aid images are copyrighted and not synced by default. To access these features, you’ll need a Premium AnkiHub subscription. You can learn more about this through the McGraw Hill integration FAQ:
