Hi there! I see you’re having trouble with images not displaying in your AnKing deck from AnkiHub. Based on your screenshot, it looks like the images are missing from your cards. Let me help you troubleshoot this issue.
First, check your media sync status:
Go to the AnkiHub add-on menu at the top of Anki
Check the media sync status - it should say “Idle” if media sync is complete
If it says “Downloading”, you’ll need to wait for it to finish (can take up to 60 minutes depending on your internet connection)
If media sync is complete but images are still missing:
Reset local changes (you mentioned you tried this, but let’s ensure it’s done correctly):
I’ll help you troubleshoot this further since you’ve already tried the basic solutions. Let me search for any additional information that might help with your specific case.

Thanks for providing those additional details. Since you’re using the latest Anki version (25.07.5) with AnKing V12 and have already tried the basic troubleshooting steps, let’s try some more advanced troubleshooting:
Media Sync Force Reset
Force a media sync reset:
Close Anki completely
Restart Anki while holding down the Shift key (this starts Anki without add-ons)
Close Anki again
Restart Anki normally
Check if the AnkiHub media sync status says “Idle” or “Downloading”
If it says “Downloading,” wait for it to complete
Check media files in Anki:
Go to Tools > Check Media in Anki
This will show if there are any missing media files
If there are missing files, note their names for reference
Manually import media:
Even though AnkiHub should handle media automatically, you can try manually importing:
Go to the AnkiHub add-on in your menu bar
Click on “Import Media”
Choose the appropriate option for your situation (Local Folder, Anki Deck Package, etc.)
Understanding the Media Issue
From what I understand about how media works in Anki with AnkiHub:
There are two parts to images: the actual image file and the HTML reference to that file
If you see missing media icons, you have the HTML reference but no actual media file
If fields are empty, they might be protected in AnkiHub settings
Check if important fields with media are protected
If they are, unprotect them, then unsubscribe and resubscribe to the deck
Try a complete removal and reinstall:
Unsubscribe from the deck
Go to Tools > Check Media and delete unused media
Restart Anki
Subscribe to the official AnKing V12 deck again
Allow sufficient time for media to download (can take 60+ minutes with a large deck)
Verify Anki Web syncing:
Make sure you’re properly syncing with AnkiWeb
Media syncing can sometimes be delayed or incomplete
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it might be helpful to share a screenshot of your AnkiHub add-on status page showing the media sync status and any error messages that appear during the troubleshooting process.
Just to clarify, Anki’s “Missing Media Files” report isn’t always perfectly accurate; it can sometimes appear even when no media is actually missing. However, it sounds like you are indeed missing some images, so let’s try to figure this out.
First, let’s try a few troubleshooting steps:
Update the AnkiHub add-on: Please go to Tools > Add-ons > Check for Updates and then restart Anki. (I see you already have the latest Anki version, so that’s great!)
Check Protected Fields: Please double-check that the fields with missing media are not protected. Here’s a guide: How to Manage Protected Fields
Reset Local Changes: Please try resetting your local changes one more time. Here’s how: How to Reset Local Changes
If the issue still persists, could you please provide some more details?
Is the media simply not there, or can you see a “missing media” icon on the flashcard?
Which fields have missing media? Is it all fields, or specific ones like “Extra” or “Sketchy”?
Could you please send a screenshot of a flashcard with the issue? This helps us understand the problem much better.
Thank you, I have tried all of the steps, and I still have the same issue. The missing media icon is present. Every field is missing including Extra and Sketchy.
Hi there MarcoZan, thank you for your help. My first aid images are not showing and I have tried everything above as well. Below is my filename, thank you so much for helping: ankihub_addon_logs_shashi26_1754159562.log
It is normal for the FirstAid images to not show, as being proprietary media AnkiHub is not able to provide anything in that field. The field is there for your personal use
You can remove the broken image icons by returning the field to its default protected state, and you can find a bit more info here: AnKing Step Deck Wiki
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
Unfortunately, this is a rare bug that affects a small number of users. We will bring this up to the developers and try to get this prioritized. Apologies for the inconvenience this is causing
